BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Birmingham Police Department reported that a suspect has been arrested for capital murder in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on Oct. 18.

According to the BPD, the incident occurred in the 1400 block of Mayfield Avenue Southwest. The victim was identified as Monderrius McClellan.

The BPD's Crime Reduction Team arrested 21-year-old Markell Tolbert, of Birmingham, in connection to the shooting. Tolbert was taken into custody on Tuesday, Nov. 4, and he is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
