CLINTWOOD, Va. (WJHL) — The Clintwood Police Department has launched a child abuse investigation after a video circulated on social media.

In a social media post on Tuesday, the Clintwood Police Department said that it was aware of the video and had made an arrest.

News Channel 11 obtained a criminal complaint that states the person of interest is David Umberger, 24. The complaint states that Umberger "tripped a person under the age of 18 causing him to fall" on Sunday.

Umberger was arrested on Tuesday, according to the warrant of arrest.

He was released on a $5,000 bond that evening.

Dickenson County Commonwealth's Attorney Joshua Newberry is investigating the case and said Umberger is facing assault and battery charges.
