AMES, Iowa — North Dakota State University President David Cook billed his appearance at Iowa State University as a homecoming while making a case as to why he should be the next person to lead that institution.
On Thursday, Nov. 6, Cook answered questions during a public forum on the campus in Ames, the university he once attended and the city where he and his wife, Kate, were both born and raised and where family members still live.
“It’s coming home, and that's why we're here,” Cook said.
Only a day prior, Cook was named one of two finalists for the job and he notified the campus community at NDSU, where he’s served as president since May 2022.
