CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - An Iowa lawmaker has called on Cedar Rapids school board members to resign citing trust, communication, and leadership issues.

Senator Molly Donahue wants board members Cindy Garlock, David Tominsky, and Jen Neumann to step down from their positions.

Donahue claims the recent bond failure wasn’t just about money but “trust, communication, and leadership.”

In a Facebook post Thursday, the senator said the board members have displayed poor communication, divisive decision-making, and lack of transparency over the past two years. She also cited their disconnect from educators, parents, and community members.

Donahue says she hopes Cedar Rapids can have a fresh start and the board can put the community’s children and classrooms first.
