RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) -- After a threat was made against a school in Champaign County on Monday, the Rantoul Police Department is sharing more details about what happened that day.
Rantoul Police said that a threat was directed at RISE Academy in Rantoul on Facebook Monday afternoon. They say it came from a student.
Rantoul's Deputy Chief, Kristina Reifsteck, said that the school never had to go on lockdown because RISE Academy wasn't in session. The threat made on Monday was investigated and solved in the same day.
Reifsteck shared that they were working with the school, the FBI, Facebook, and community members. She said it took every last one them to get the job done.
The post vanished moments after it was made, but the fear didn't and police were quick to respond.
