LUFKIN, Texas (KETK) -- The Salvation Army of Lufkin has launched its annual "Angel Tree" program, inviting community members to sponsor a child or a senior citizen for Christmas.
The program aims to alleviate the financial burden on families, especially during tough economic times exacerbated by inflation. Trees are placed around Lufkin, allowing anyone to sponsor an angel and help provide gifts for those in need.
This year, the Salvation Army plans to assist more than 900 angels through the program. The adoption deadline for sponsors is December 12th, giving the community ample time to participate and make a difference in someone's holiday season.
