PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The countdown to the New Year is officially on.
On Thursday, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation and Mummers Parade revealed how Philadelphia will ring in the new year.
Organizers say they are tripling the amount of fireworks that will go off over the Delaware River from three different barges.
It will also help to kick off America's 250th birthday celebrations.
"2026 is Pennsylvania's moment, and we're ready to deliver, beginning with an unbelievable fireworks show to celebrate the United States' 250th Birthday," said Anne Ryan, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Deputy Secretary of Tourism. "Whether you're a lifelong resident or first-time visitor, Pennsylvania in 2026 is where you want to be, and it starts with New Year's in Philadelphia."
