FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — As the most wonderful time of the year approaches, the Salvation Army of Marion County is guiding the sleigh with the launch of this year's Angel Tree.

On Thursday, the Salvation Army of Marion County kicked off its Angel Tree at WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center to inform the community of the 1,500 children in need of help this Christmas.

The Salvation Army in Fairmont not only serves Marion County, but Monongalia, Preston and Taylor counties as well.

As with every year, the goal is to ensure no child goes without, as the Salvation Army also offers "Emergency Angels" for those children whose information may not have been turned in time for the Angel Tree's deadline.
