CULLOWHEE, N.C. —

An investigation is underway after someone shot into an occupied vehicle near Western Carolina University.

On Thursday, the WCU Police Department said that the Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting into an occupied vehicle in the area of Little Savannah Road that occurred overnight.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (828) 586-1911.

Officers did not say if anyone was injured in the shooting. No other details have been released.
