But Premier Danielle Smith and her UCP want to see speed limits on divided highways hiked from 110 km/h to 120 km/h and if Albertans give the green light we could see that change early in the new year.
Devin Dreeshen, the Smith government’s point man on pavement, points to examples in Alberta of divided highways or stretches of divided highway, including Highway 2.
For those driving between Calgary and Edmonton, you are very familiar with that road.
Dreeshen also points to the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 16, also known as the Yellowhead, and Highway 3 down south and Highway 63 to Fort McMurray.
