MP Chris D’entremont of Halifax crossed the floor in the House of Commons, moving from the official opposition Conservatives over to the Liberal party. He claims his motive is he disagrees with Pierre Polievre’s leadership and policies. I find it curious he chose to make this move right now, just after we finally got a federal budget. He states he agrees with PM Carney’s plans where there will be money allocated that will benefit his Maritime riding. That may be so, but his riding will benefit whether he stayed Conservative, or crossed the floor. His explanation doesn’t hold water. He was elected by his Halifax constituents as much for the party he ran with as for himself. Or does he believe he would have won, running as an independent?
