SPRINGFIELD, ORE. - Concerns over data security have surfaced once again during a meeting about the use of automatic license plate reader cameras. Community members initially expressed skepticism regarding the safeguarding of information collected through the system's cameras.
"I believe there's value into it, don't get me wrong, with me, and I think with most people, the issue is, is there enough security there, and is there reason to believe the system is as safe as it can be," one concerned individual said.
Chief Jamie Resch has acknowledged these ongoing concerns about data security. She assured the community that any breach would be handled swiftly and appropriately.
