FORT TOTTEN, ND (KXNET) — Missing Spirit Lake woman Danica White has been found deceased, concluding an almost weeklong search that started after she called Fort Totten police Saturday asking for help.

According to a Spirit Lake Nation spokesperson, her body was recovered from the waters just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

According to Vicki Alberts, public relations specialist for Spirit Lake Nation, no foul play is suspected at this time, and it is not a suicide.

“Our hearts are heavy with this news," Chairwoman Lonna Jackson-Street said in a press release. "Danica was a vibrant young woman with her whole life ahead of her. We ask everyone to keep her family in your thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy as they grieve."
