After an expensive, hard-fought Senate race for the 26th Legislative District, Republican Rep. Michelle Caldier conceded Thursday in a social media post.
The longtime Gig Harbor lawmaker will keep her House seat representing the district, which spans Pierce and Kitsap counties. Her opponent, incumbent Sen. Deb Krishnadasan, D-Gig Harbor, will remain in the Senate. Krishnadasan was appointed to the position last year after former Sen. Emily Randall was elected to Congress.
As of Thursday, Krishnadasan led the race by 1,970 votes. Caldier noted in her post that she was disappointed by the outcome, but grateful for her supporters.
