NEWTOWN, Conn. — Newtown police said they are looking for a vehicle after a deadly crash involving a pedestrian Thursday evening.

The crash happened on Hawleyville Road, adjacent to the Exit 9 westbound off-ramp, at 6:15 p.m., police said.

Police are looking for a commercial vehicle that was parked on the side of the road, in front of the Papa Al's shopping center, around the time of the crash.

They are asking anyone with information to call the Newtown Police Department at 203-426-5841 as soon as possible.

The road where the collision happened will be closed until further notice, police said.
