A 30-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl have died, while another passenger remains in intensive care, in the remote Aboriginal community of Doomadgee after a serious traffic crash.
Emergency services were called to Doomadgee Road, 400 kilometres north of Mount Isa, at about 6:30am following reports a vehicle had flipped and crashed.
The driver and four passengers were located with serious injuries.
The driver, a 30-year-old Cloncurry woman, was administered first aid but died at the scene.
A passenger, a 10-year-old girl, was transported to Doomadgee Hospital where she was declared deceased.
Two other passengers were transported to Doomadgee Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and a third passenger is in a critical condition.
