A five-kilometre section of a major route through the Lower Mainland will be closed for part of the weekend, DriveBC says.
Lane closures on Highway One between the Sprott and Gaglardi exits will begin Saturday at noon.
Then, beginning at 8 p.m., the full stretch between those exits will be closed in both directions.
The closure is related to the construction of the Burnaby Lake Pedestrian Overpass, the City of Burnaby says.
“A new pedestrian-cyclist overpass is being built across Highway 1, creating a safe, accessible north-south crossing between key regional trail networks and destinations in Burnaby,” it said.
“Linking Burnaby Lake and Deer Lake, the overpass will make it easier for everyone to get to their favourite parks, trails, and amenities.”
