SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. — The Moorhead Spuds are headed to U.S. Bank Stadium.
Junior quarterback Jett Feeney threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more to lead the Spuds to a 35-21 victory against No. 1-seeded Centennial in the Minnesota Class 6A football quarterfinals.
The No. 6-seeded Spuds (7-4) advanced to the state semifinals and are slated to play the Maple Grove-Lakeville South winner at 7:30 p.m. Friday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Spuds are 6-0 with Feeney as their starting QB. Moorhead was 1-4 in the five games he missed due to injury during the regular season.
The Spuds never trailed and didn't punt against the Cougars, who finished 9-2 overall. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Feeney completed 20 of 28 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed also for 32 yards and two s
