HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) -- Kentucky's Lieutenant Governor visits the students at James Madison Middle School in Madisonville Thursday.
Jacqueline Coleman got to see the new Hopkins County Schools Career Lab. Students and teachers showcased the interactive lab which features 18 hands-on modules ranging from welding to culinary arts and home maintenance.
The career lab introduces middle schoolers to potential career paths helping guide their decisions before entering high school.
"I think this is an example of how education's always evolving, we're always trying to meet the needs of the community and the economy and those are always changing too and so this is another way for students to find their way especially at this early age," Coleman said.
