ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - At a meeting on Thursday night, Essex Junction city officials received a presentation on the "Connect the Junction" plan for development.
The plan could eventually lead to over 2,000 new homes around the main thoroughfare of Pearl Street and the Five Corners intersection - if city officials decide to go forward with the most ambitious changes.
The presentation took place at a joint meeting of three city boards and commissions. Officials considered endorsing the report, but instead chose to wait until the next Planning Commission meeting on December 4.
"I'm willing to endorse the majority of the content," said Commissioner Diane Clemens. However, she noted factual issues with the report which prevented her from giving her full support.
