NORFOLK, Va. — The Old Dominion men’s basketball team found its rhythm on the fast break Thursday night, running past Randolph College 93–53 in front of 4,411 fans at Chartway Arena. The win marked the Monarchs’ first of the season, bouncing back from a tough loss at Miami (Ohio) earlier in the week.

After a sluggish first half that saw ODU up 40–26 at the break, the Monarchs (1–1) turned on the jets in the second. They outscored the Division III WildCats 53–27 after halftime, turning defense into transition points and dominating every statistical category.

It was Old Dominion’s most lopsided win since 2018, when the Monarchs beat UTEP by 49 points. This time, ODU outscored Randolph 33–3 on the fast break and outrebounded them 55–30, with a commanding 53–18 advantage in the paint.
