The GhostLight Theater in Benton Harbor is preparing for its final show of the season.
GhostLight founder and manager Paul Mow tells us “The Thanksgiving Play” is a satirical take on Thanksgiving lore written by Larissa Fasthorse. It’ll be a lighthearted and thoughtful way to close out the year.
“T hree very well-meaning educators that are trying to put on a Thanksgiving type holiday pageant and they’re doing their best to do something representative of indigenous people, but they keep stepping in with all of our American folklore,” Mow said.
Playwright Fasthorse puts a humorous spin on Thanksgiving, drawing from her Native American background. Mow says there will also be a talkback session after the show with representatives of the Pokagon Band.
