The Maharashtra government has ordered a high-level investigation into an alleged land scam involving Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, after the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) submitted an interim report detailing serious irregularities in a Rs 1,800-crore property transaction.
The report, sent to the Additional Chief Secretary in Mumbai, points to major lapses in the sale and registration of government-linked land in Pune’s Mundhwa area. Following the revelations, one official has been suspended, and a special committee has been tasked with submitting its final findings within eight days.
