The Caldwell County Judicial Project Board advanced the process for selecting an architect for the new Caldwell County Judicial Center this week.

WPKY reported the board met Monday night and narrowed the list of eight architect firms down to three finalists. The final choice will be announced during the board's next meeting in December.

The new judicial center project was approved by the General Assembly as part of the Judicial Branch’s biennial budget for fiscal years 2024 to 2026.

Caldwell County will own the facility but construction and maintenance costs will be covered by the Administrative Office of the Courts through the Judicial Branch budget.

The project has an estimated price tag of just over $33 million.
