Several candidates filed for the 2026 election in Calloway County this week.
The Murray Ledger and Times reported Danny Hudspeth, the current longest running member of the Murray City Council announced plans to run for mayor. Meanwhile, current mayor Bob Rogers announced he will not seek a third term in the position.
Current 4th district magistrate Paul Rister announced his plans to run for Calloway Judge Executive against incumbent Kenny Imes, who has not filed for re-election.
Calloway County Sheriff Nicky Knight and Coroner Ricky Garland, both incumbents, announced their plans to seek re-election.
