BYRON — Trailing by 128 votes after Tuesday night’s unofficial election results were in, Byron Town Supervisor Candace Hensel said she was disappointed, but not surprised.
“I was hoping for a bigger turnout by people that want the town to move forward, making Byron a better community for everyone,” said the incumbent Democrat and Byron Forward candidate, who was elected to a two-year term in November 2023. She was running for re-election against current Town Board member and Republican and Conservative candidate Jeffrey Thompson, who leads the race 343-215.
