QUINCY, Calif. - Firefighters in the Plumas National Forest Mount Hough Ranger District are getting ready for pile burning operations.

The United States Forest Service says that the burns are set to begin on Thursday and continue through Friday, depending on weather conditions.

The focus for Thursday will be the Meadow Valley and Bucks Lake areas. Firefighters plan to burn piles across approximately 29 acres in the Spanish Ranch area, north of Meadow Valley. Additionally, around 15 acres of piles will be treated in the Three Lake Road area.

In the vicinity of Bucks Lake, roughly 4 acres of piles will be managed near Lookout Rock Road and Big Creek Road, Oakland Camp, and the Greenville Campground.
