MANCHESTER, N.H. —
Alexandra Eckersley appeared in court Thursday after completing a mental health program as part of her sentence for endangering the welfare of a child.
Eckersley was convicted last year after prosecutors said she abandoned her newborn son on Christmas night 2022 , giving birth in the woods and deliberately misleading first responders about the baby's whereabouts.
Her lawyers said a man with her at the time told her the baby did not have a pulse and that no crime had been committed. They said Eckersley was under stress after giving birth in extreme conditions.
Eckersley did not serve jail time as part of her sentence .
