Malayalam superstar Mammootty ’s horror film Bramayugam , that released in February last year, is all set to represent India at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’s film series “Where the Forest Meets the Sea: Folklore From Around The World” in Los Angeles, on February 12, 2026.

Written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the cult horror film shot in black and white was hailed as a never-before-seen cinematic experience in Malayalam cinema by critics when it released last year, in 2024. Bramayugam is set in 17th-century Malabar, where a man lives in an old and dilapidated mansion along with his cook.
