Coby Davilla was only 21 when his life abruptly ended.

"When he walked into a room, you were gonna laugh," Trish Davilla, Coby's mom, said. "He had a real funny personality and he'd do anything for anybody."

Crash reports show that Coby was killed in a head-on collision on FM 2419 when another driver, Richard Lynn Cooksey Jr., crossed the road's center divide.

Coby's wife was expecting, and his son Krue was born just 33 days after his death.

Coby's family believed that Cooksey Jr. could have been driving impaired, but they had to wait nearly two months for official toxicology results to be released.

"Anybody who's lost a child to a drunk or drug driver, you'd understand how it is to sit and wait," Trish said.
