TROY — The Bradford County district judge accused of misconduct has been suspended without pay by the state’s Court of Judicial Discipline.
The one-sentence order issued Thursday did not give a reason for the suspension of Judge Jonathan M. Wilcox, whose office is in Troy.
However, the Judicial Conduct Board on Oct. 10 filed a 25-count complaint against him and petitioned the court to suspend him without pay.
That petition stated Wilcox’s suspension was sought because he “engaged in conduct that was so extreme that it brought the judicial office itself into dispute,” which violates a clause of the state constitution.
Wilcox is accused of improper conduct in a domestic case, and one in which he sentenced a female to prison for not paying fines before determining if she could pay them.
