Police in Riverside County have arrested a 35-year-old man from Temecula in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Murrieta on Halloween night.
The Oct. 31 violence broke out at around 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of Margarita and Torrey Pines roads, Murrieta police said in a news release posted to social media.
Responding officers located a man suffering from multiple stab wounds at the location and attempted lifesaving measures while waiting on paramedics who rushed the unidentified victim to the hospital in critical condition.
A search for the suspect was launched after witnesses told officers that another adult male had committed the stabbing before fleeing the scene.
“Despite an exhaustive search, the suspect was not immediately located,” investigators said.
