TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Becky Burke era is off to a winning start for Arizona Women's Basketball.

The Wildcats beat UC Riverside 62-59 in their season opener at McKale Center.

Mickayla Perdue led the U of A with 17 points, including three triples. She was spark in the second half, scoring eight of those points in the 3rd quarter. Daniah Trammell and Noelani Cornfield were also in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Cornfield also added a team-high eight assists.

Arizona dominated defensively, capitalizing on 23 Highlander turnovers, converting them into 18 points. Nora Francois led the way defensively, leading the team with three steals and two blocks on the night.
