Police have initiated an urgent manhunt following a sexual assault on a woman aboard a train heading to a major UK airport. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 11, during a service from Rhyl in north Wales to Manchester Airport.
At approximately 1:45pm, a man reportedly began to stare at the victim while on the train. As she disembarked at Manchester Piccadilly, he approached her and sexually assaulted her. The assailant exited the train at Manchester Oxford Road.
British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to regarding the incident. A spokesperson for BTP stated, "Detectives believe the man in these CCTV images may have information that could help with their investigation."
Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the individual in the image to come forward. They can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 2500126159. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. The police are keen to gather any information that could assist in their investigation into this serious crime.
