A law enforcement officer lost his life, and 14 others, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were injured during a counter-terror operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, officials said on Friday.
The joint operation by police and security personnel took place on Thursday in the Mamandkhel area after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants. The exchange of heavy gunfire resulted in the death of one security official, injuries to 13 civilians and a DSP, and the killing of four terrorists, news agency PTI reported.
