Consumers Energy and Confluence Hydro will host a meeting Nov. 20 in Muir to update the community on the Webber Dam.

The meeting is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. at the Village of Muir Office at 122 Superior St. The event is described as “a community conversation about the future of the Webber Dam,” according to Consumers.

The company announced in September an agreement had been reached to sell 13 hydroelectric dams in Michigan — including the Webber Dam — to Confluence Hydro.

According to Consumers, the sale will reduce long-term costs, ensure the dams continue to operate safely, and provide economic and recreational benefits.
