The Salvation Army of St. Clair County is launching its annual Christmas fundraising campaign to meet a growing demand for support.

The campaign, which runs through Dec. 24, aims to raise $325,000 to support various programs throughout the year.

The funds will be used to assist residents with housing, utilities, food and other essential services. Last year, the campaign supported more than 7,000 residents, according to a community announcement.

Red kettles return to stores

The iconic red kettles will be placed outside stores at numerous St. Clair County locations starting Nov. 7. Donations can also be made online at www.porthuronsa.com or dropped off at The Salvation Army's main office at 2000 Court St., Port Huron.
