What Battle Creek residents should know about the streetlight check

The City of Battle Creek is conducting its annual streetlight inventory project.

The Geographic Information Systems Department is documenting the operational status of streetlights throughout the city. The project involves identifying lights that are on or off during the evening and noting any other issues, according to a community announcement.

The streetlight inventory project is generally carried out in three phases. In the first phase, one or two teams of city GIS staff systematically drive through the entire city, collecting data using GIS tools. This data collection occurs during evening hours to accurately assess the functionality of the streetlights.
