INDIANAPOLIS -- It is no longer speculation—flights at Indianapolis International Airport are being cut back.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is asking airlines to reduce the number of flights because of the federal government shutdown, which has been going on for more than a month.
The FAA called for reducing flights at dozens of airports, as thousands of air traffic controllers have gone without pay as the shutdown drags on. Hundreds of cancellations are anticipated nationwide.
Officials with the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) confirmed late Thursday night that Indianapolis International Airport is one of the facilities affected by the FAA’s notice, with restrictions going into effect on Friday, Nov. 7.
IAA expected airlines to determine and communicate any schedule c
