Hindalco Industries, an Aditya Birla group company, reported that its net profit in the September quarter was up 21 per cent, ₹4,741 crore, against ₹3,909 crore logged in the same period last year, on better realisation amid strong demand.

Revenue increased 13 per cent to ₹66,058 crore (₹58,203 crore). EBITDA improved 6 per cent to ₹9,684 crore (₹9,100 crore).

Satish Pai, Managing Director, Hindalco Industries, said the demand for both aluminium and copper has been very strong, and the realisation in the aluminium business was among the highest in the monsoon season.

$750m Novelis infusion

The company will raise $750 million in debt to pump into Novelis as equity to help it manage the impact of the fire at its Oswego plant in New York, he said.
