SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - Oregon taxpayers will get another “kicker” credit next year, after state economists confirmed a $1.41 billion revenue surplus for the 2023-2025 budget cycle.

The Oregon Office of Economic Analysis (OEA) announced Friday that state revenues once again exceeded projections by more than 2%triggering the state’s unique “kicker” law. The surplus will be returned to taxpayers through credits on their 2025 state personal income tax returns, which will be filed in 2026.

Unlike a rebate check, the kicker is applied as a credit on tax returns, increasing a taxpayer’s refund or reducing what they owe.

Who is eligible?

Only taxpayers who filed an Oregon personal income tax return for both 2025 and 2025 will be eligible.
