25 YEARS AGO: Mulholland is off to Florida to aid in recount

Political consultant Bob Mulholland of Chico headed for Florida Friday to help the Democratic Party oversee the hand-counting of some election ballots there.
Mulholland, a campaign adviser to the state Democratic Party, said the national party asked him to go to Florida to help monitor the recounting.
The Democrats have requested that recounts of ballots be done by hand in four Florida counties. …
Interviewed by phone as he drove to the Sacramento Airport Friday morning, Mulholland said he wasn’t sure which county he’d be assigned to.
