Jury indicts southern Minnesota man for murdering his father

MANKATO, Minn. – A grand jury in Blue Earth County has handed down a five count indictment against a man accused of killing his father.

Troy Blaine Almhjeld, 47 of Mapleton, is now charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and driving while impaired.

Law enforcement says says Troy Almhjeld killed his father Blaine Almhjeld, 71, on June 3 at the apartment they shared in the 20 block of Siler Sreet in Mapleton.

Court documents state Blaine Almhjeld was found inside his home with “obvious” signs of trauma.
