JAMESTOWN — Those who were fortunate enough to get a license for the deer gun season should have a good chance of getting a deer, according to the big game management biologist for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
“There's not going to be a lot of competition this year since we're down in our number of licenses that we issued for 2025,” Jason Smith said.
The deer gun hunting season begins at noon on Friday, Nov. 7. Hunting hours are from a half hour before sunrise to a half hour after sunset through Nov. 23.
Statewide, the Game and Fish Department issued 42,300 licenses for the deer gun season, he said. The department had more than 70,000 applicants for licenses for the deer gun season.
