WHITE COUNTY, Ind. – A person died after a crash involving a semi and a box truck on I-65 in White County.
According to Indiana State Police, state troopers responded to I-65 southbound around 4 a.m. for a reported crash near mile marker 197, just a few miles south of Wolcott.
The initial investigation found a semi was heading south in the right lane while a box truck was in the left lane. The box truck moved into the right lane and hit the truck’s trailer, with both vehicles coming to rest in the right shoulder.
The White County Coroner’s Office said the passenger in the box truck died at the scene.
The drivers of both trucks were taken to an area hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
The right lane of I-65 southbound closed after the crash.
