Canadians are cooling on cross-border trips as new U.S. entry requirements take effect, according to new data from the Angus Reid Institute.

The study found that the number of Canadians who made multiple trips to the United States in the past year has dropped by half compared to surveys conducted in 2017 and 2023. About one in ten Canadians say they’ve crossed the border more than once in the last 12 months, down from 19 per cent in 2023 and 21 per cent in 2017.
