DULUTH — Sometimes the right threads get pulled and a project comes together quickly. A few years ago, learning coordinator and drama adviser Keely Waechter had an idea for a sewing club.
"I had a student who hated school, but then I got them on a sewing machine and they just lit up," Waechter said. "And I was thinking, how does this not exist? We should make this happen."
During the same week, a parent suggested the idea to a coordinator for Denfeld After School Happenings, also known as DASH. Waechter connected with the parent, and they got started stitching together plans for the Denfeld Sewing Club.
