A girl was hospitalized after she was struck by a vehicle on Friday near Olympia High School, according to officials.

The Orange County Fire Rescue Department said they transported an adolescent female to the hospital after she was hit.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 65-year-old woman was driving when she may have experienced a medical episode and ran a red light when she hit the teen.

She was traveling southbound on S Apopka Vineland Road, approaching Conroy Windermere Road.

The woman told troopers she lost consciousness and drove herself to the hospital when she woke up. She didn't realize she had run a red light and hit someone.

It's unclear if the woman will face any charges.
