ANN ARBOR, MI — A long-awaited splash pad coming to an Ann Arbor park is getting closer to completion.

Progress on the improvements at Bicentennial Park have continued with an anticipated opening in spring 2026, Josh Landefeld, city parks manager, said in an update to City Council.

Council voted 7-0 Thursday night, Nov. 6, to amend a $1 million grant agreement between the city and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. for the splash pad project, extending it through March to give the city more time to spend the funds.

The project has extended beyond the original timeline due to delays in securing additional funding and the nature of construction, officials said.
