Veterans Day events planned for Elgin area Tuesday

Veterans Day ceremonies are being held in the Elgin area on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 10-11:

Elgin and American Legion Post 57 will honor the military with an event at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Heritage Ballroom of the Edward Schock Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way. Post Cmdr. Dennis Beach and Senior Vice Cmdr. Carol “Gunny” Fowler will speak and the post’s Color Guard will present colors.

Carpentersville’s commemoration will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Garden in Carpenter Park, 275 Maple Ave. The Rev. Phil Zilinski, pastor of Fox Valley Baptist Church, will give an invocation, followed by remarks from Village President John Skillman.
